Christmas in Southern California

The end point to my winter road trip was the coast of Southern California to spend the holidays with my family. We all wisely decided we preferred not to be in the frigid arctic conditions of Wisconsin during this time of year. Instead, we celebrated Christmas on the beach in Carlsbad, hiked the nearly eight-mile trail to Potato Chip Rock atop Mount Woodson in Lake Poway the day after, then spent a few days together near Palm Springs.
