Sunday afternoon, about halfway home, I pulled off the highway near Waco. Mother Neff State Park shelters hilly woodlands, campgrounds, and a few miles of trails with spurs terminating respectively at a lookout tower, a limestone cave, and an emerald pond. I hiked to each of the landmarks, more quaint than spectacular but a pleasant respite from Austin all the same.
Snapshots from that most recent escape are finally posted here in the waning days of February. As we hurtle towards March, I've hastily pulled together a spring break road trip that is now barely a week away. It's a little odd not knowing where I'll live next. Every road trip destination has added weight, it may just be where I end up.
