Goblin Valley State Park

My destination after Capitol Reef National Park was Moab. I'd stay the night in that biblically named town and visit both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks Friday, the next day. To get there, the route was primarily along Highway 24, the very picture of lunar-like desolation. Along the way, I stopped at Goblin Valley State Park. With a name like that, how could I not? Goblins are gnarled, hardened rock forms that didn't wash away when the rest of the landscape did.
